About BHRAThe British Hot Rod Association was formed in 1994 by a few enthusiastic people who had been heavily involved in the National Association of Street Clubs (NASC). It was felt that there was not a club that catered for street-rods, customs and classics in the Medway and North West Kent areas. So the BHRA was reformed, reviving a name that was originally used in the early 60's and lost through name changes within the early Drag Racing clubs. What We DoThe BHRA organizes a variety of events throughout the year, including car shows, races, and social gatherings. Our flagship event, the Hot Rod Races on Pendine Sands, attracts participants and spectators from all over the UK and beyond. This exhilarating event showcases some of the fastest and most beautifully crafted hot rods in the country, providing an unforgettable experience for all attendees. In addition to our events, we offer resources and support for builders and restorers at every level. Our workshops and seminars cover a wide range of topics, from technical skills to design principles, ensuring that members have access to valuable knowledge that can enhance their hot rodding journey. Community EngagementWe are also deeply committed to advocating for the interests of our members within the automotive community. The BHRA actively engages with policymakers on issues affecting classic vehicles, ensuring that our voices are heard in legislative matters. We believe that preserving our automotive heritage is essential for future generations to enjoy. Join UsWhether you’re a seasoned hot rodder or just starting your journey, we invite you to join the British Hot Rod Association. Become part of a community that celebrates passion, creativity, and camaraderie. Together, let’s keep the spirit of hot rodding alive in the UK |
The club meets every Thursday night at the Kent Boat and Ski Club, behind Cuxton Station from about 8 o'clock onwards. We regularly hold social functions including discos, live bands, barbecues and even a pantomime in late January. We try to make it a good family atmosphere, so if you are in the area and want to join or just to visit - Please call in. |
Since the Kent Boat and Ski Club was reduced to a pile of ash, we have been meeting in the Rochester Queen floating bar/restaurant. Turn LEFT instead of right after crossing the tracks at Cuxton Station and look for the big boat with the drunken rodders on board! It is hoped we will be able to return to the Kent Boat and Ski Club in the summer once it has been rebuilt. |
